I did a dog wedding at Point Breezeway in Pittsburgh! My life may official be complete!
If you see on my About Me page I say “I love animals, sometimes more than people. If animals got married and they chose me as their wedding photographer, my life would be complete.” When Jennifer from FurKid Rescue asked if I would be the wedding photographer for Vita and Roddy at Point Breezeway in Pittsburgh I was super excited to help! I came out to her house about a month earlier as well to get some of their engagement pictures. Here’s one of their engagement photos I got to help promote their wedding day! I love the flapper theme Jennifer decided to go with!
I love animals. Particularly dogs. I’ve found that if I see puppies I almost become catatonic and I can’t stop staring at them, the cuteness is just too much! While in Pittsburgh I volunteer to take pictures of the foster dogs for FurKid Rescue. They use the photos I take to help find these pups forever homes. Jennifer is the owner of the organization and she takes in so many dogs it’s amazing someone can have that big of a heart, let alone a home to house them! One of the dogs she took in was Vita, a beautiful girl who suffered from a terrible heart condition. This baby needed daily medication and constant care and Jennifer took the time and was able to get a donor to help with the expenses. A few months ago she put together a beautiful wedding fundraiser, not just for Vita but to raise some money for all of the foster dogs she takes in. The bride to be was Vita herself.
The wedding was at Point Breezeway – a popular wedding site that’s perfect for the more intimate weddings. It has lots of charm and a great outdoor space. They had a cake for the human guests, and a cake for the doggy guests, and lots of delicious vegan cupcakes and treats for both humans and pups compliments of Sweet Alchemy Bake Shop, Leslie’s Cupcakes, Doggy Delights, Kivas Canine Cookies, and yummy vegan and vegetarian foods for the humans to eat all donated by Kaleidoscope Cafe, Fortuitea Cafe, and Spoonwood Brewing Co. Flowers were from Cassandra’s Florals. They had live music from LocaL and Carlton Leeper. It was quite the event for these two love pups and I was happy to capture it all!
Sadly Vita passed away in late August. She had a fun-filled last day with bike rides and a visit to the park, and she was with the people who loved and cared for her the most. I feel so fortunate that I was able to capture photographs of her for Furkid Rescue and anyone else she touched. She had the most beautiful eyes and would look at you in such a sweet way you couldn’t help but fall a little in love with her.
