Gardens of the World Engagement Session – Jillian & Jeremy

Gardens of the World Engagement Session

Last week I got together with Jillian and Jeremy to photograph their engagement session. We met at Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks in the middle of the week. It was cloudy out and looked like it might rain, but luckily we had nice weather for their session. We walked around the gardens, stopping at several different spots for some photos. The Gardens of the World has a Japanese pagoda surrounded by bamboo, as well as a desert are around the mission. They have a pretty rose garden (which was still in bloom), and a giant water feature, or fountain flanking the main entrance of the property. Overall, there are a lot of nice areas for photos if you prefer a manicured environment.

After spending some time there, we headed to another favorite spot of mine for some more photos. Last year I photographed another couples engagement session in the same spot. Literally the next week all the fires broke out and destroyed the area. Luckily with all the rain we got this past spring, the only sign of the fire is from the charred trees, which I think add an interesting touch to the landscape.

Jillian and Jeremy have been dating for a little over 7 years now. Jeremy proposed to her while they were scuba diving. But not just on any scuba diving trip, this was on their final certification dive! If you know much about scuba diving, you’d know that being calm is super important, especially for an inexperienced diver. Well fortunately for Jeremy, Jillian managed to get to the surface quickly where she could safely show her excitement!

Check out the photos from their Gardens of the World Engagement Session last week in Thousand Oaks.
