bride and groom hold hands and walk through a garden together for their outdoor bridals

As a wedding photographer who is fluent in American Sign Language, I am always happy to work with the Deaf and hearing-impaired community. So, when Cheyenne reached out to me for her and Austin’s Mesa Verde Country Club Wedding I was excited to work with them! Cheyenne met Austin while working as a backup dancer for a Bruno Mars music video. After hitting it off and dating for a while they decided to tie the knot.

Cheyenne and Austin shared some details with me about their wedding day, and here’s what they said:

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

“Finally being married! And getting see so many people we love and care about in one place. There’s never enough time to spend with everyone in one day, but that’s what makes the day so special.”

What inspired your wedding décor?

“Our favorite colors, plants, nature but with an elevated sense of glam.”

Did you have a theme in mind?

“We just picked things we felt represented us and it turned into a theme. Incorporating little cacti to take home, because Austin loves cacti and trees. We had colorful, Pinterest worthy romantic flowers, candles and glowing lights and sparklers. There was a vintage simple feel, but we wanted to express our shifting into a new chapter of our life and add some glam sparkly elements too.”

Why did you pick Mesa Verde Country Club Wedding venue?

“We wanted to stay close to home so we could have all of our family there. We were familiar with the venue, so we thought it would make things easier. Also we saved money by staying local.”

What is your favorite feature about your wedding venue?

“There is a huge window that faces the whole golf course. It was fun riding around in the golf cart after the ceremony to take pictures!”

Is there any particular vendor that you are really excited to have for your day?

“All of them! But our parents were most excited about the food truck with burgers and onion rings for a late night snack after dancing the night away!”

Tell us about the food/drink at your wedding.

“We chose Italian food because Austin proposed in Italy. For the engagement dinner we had chicken and waffles, Austin’s favorite food. Then we had an ice cream bar because ice cream is Cheyenne’s favorite food.”

Which part of your wedding did you want to WOW your guests?

“The most important part of the wedding to Cheyenne was the music. She really wanted a live band to give a special experience. We went with a 7 piece band to get everyone up dancing and…it worked! Also we would have had a string trio for the ceremony for even more drama, but we ended up with an equally beautiful pianist.”
