Sherwood County Club Wedding
Sherwood County Club Wedding
Late last year I photographed Mira and Ahmed’s gorgeous Sherwood County Club wedding reception. Mira and Ahmed had a private ceremony earlier in the year, but they still wanted to have a large celebration with all their family and friends. I met Mira in her room to take photos of her getting ready, her gown, shoes, and all the other details. She had her mom and some family with her helping her prepare for the wedding day.
After Mira got into her dress, we arranged for her and Ahmed to see each other for the first time. We used the very front entrance at the Sherwood Country Club for their first look so we could incorporate their classic Alfa Romeo. It was so sweet to watch them seeing each other for the first time. Not to mention that they are such a good looking couple, you’d think they stepped right out of a magazine! The beautiful vintage car draped with green foliage only added to their elegance. They hopped in their car to take a little spin around the property before their intimate portraits began.
The Sherwood Country Club has a beautiful waterfall feature just a short golf cart ride away from the main building. The waterfall makes for a really pretty backdrop for their intimate photos together, as well as a nice little escape from all of their guests who were starting to arrive. Their grand entrance was scheduled to start soon, so we didn’t have a lot of time to spend before rushing back to the main venue.
The Reception
Right before the grand entrance, Ahmed was surrounded by all the men in his life where they sang loudly in celebration for his Zaffa. A Zaffa is a musical procession of drums, horns, and men singing loudly as the procession reaches its destination. It was cool to experience that many people all singing in unison.
Following the Zaffa, Mira and Ahmed made their grand entrance and went directly into more dancing. The dancing practically lasted till the end of the evening. Complete with sparklers, and a live band, they only had small breaks for dinner, and to cut the wedding cake. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding with this much dancing before!
Here’s some of my favorites from their Sherwood Country Club Wedding.
