Top 10 Items To Bring In Your Bride Bag
You deserve to have a completely seamless wedding day, but unfortunately, that may not be the case. More than likely some inconvenience will come up. Most of these can be handled by your wedding planner or a bridesmaid. However, some of the little things can be resolved with what you bring in your bride bag. These are the top ten most helpful items to bring in your bride bag.
#1 Blotting Papers
As a Santa Barbara wedding photographer, I notice that most of my brides have their makeup done professionally. However, that doesn’t prevent you from the heat of your summer wedding, or just the oils your body naturally produces. Keep your flawless look with blotting papers to diminish any oil or grease on your skin that will accumulate throughout the day.
#2 Stain Remover
You are in all white, so the chances of you getting something on your wedding dress are pretty high. Bring in your bride bag a stain remover pen just in case. Also, talk with your bridal boutique on how to best treat the material of your dress in case of an emergency.
#3 Pain Reliever
A lot is required of you on the happiest day of your life! Staying on your feet greeting friends and family, possible dehydration, dancing the night away, and so much more. Just because it is your wedding day doesn’t mean you are immune to pain. So pack your favorite pain reliever just in case.
#4 Fashion Tape
Packing some double-sided fashion tape is always a good idea for any event you’re attending. And on your wedding day especially! Your body can change up to the day of your wedding, so by having fashion tape on hand you can adjust your dress’ fit, hold straps in place, and make sure your neckline stays in place. Also, you can even use fashion tape to keep your veil in place on a windy day.
#5 Razor & Tweezers
Although you have shaved and waxed days prior to your wedding, bring a razor and tweezers. This is your day, you should feel comfortable and beautiful in every way. That may be difficult if you find any unwanted hair. A razor is an easy thing to bring in your bride bag, and will make a world of difference!
#6 Hairspray & Pins
My least favorite thing to see as a Santa Barbara wedding photographer is after your hairstylist leaves, something falls out of place. Maybe the hair wasn’t pinned secure enough, or maybe the wind is a little too strong. No matter the reason, you are going to need a little help from your bride bag, so be sure to include some hairspray, hair ties, and/or bobbypins!
#7 Flat Shoes
Most brides do not stay in their wedding heels for the entire day. At some point, you will want a break, and walking around barefoot isn’t always the best idea. Instead, simply pack a pair of comfortable flat shoes and thank me later!
#8 Feminine Items
I know, you planned everything accordingly, so mother nature shouldn’t pay you a visit. However, sometimes she likes to make an appearance on wedding days. Be prepared by carrying a few feminine care items in your bride bag just in case. Best case scenario you won’t have to use them, worst case scenario you are ready for her when she comes.
#9 Anti-Blister Balm
Before your wedding day, you will more than likely break in your wedding day shoes. This will make the entire day more comfortable as you are moving around on your feet. However, even broken-in shoes can give you a painful blister. Avoid this with anti-blister balm so that you can party into the night!
#10 Wipes & Deodorant
This item to bring in your bride bag is especially important for my outdoor and summer brides, but should be in every bride bag! Freshen up throughout your wedding day with wipes and deodorant. Even if you have an indoor wedding, you will inevitably sweat. So be prepared to combat that discomfort with a little refresher.
