Walnut Grove Wedding – Sarah & Jeremy
Walnut Grove Wedding
Last month I photographed Sarah and Jeremy’s wedding at Walnut Grove in Moorpark. I was extra excited about their wedding, and it went exactly as I hoped! Everything was beautiful, and Sarah and Jeremy were just as awesome as I remember from their engagement session. Since they chose a July date in Moorpark, I was kinda dreading the heat of the day, but it didn’t really feel that hot underneath the walnut grove. The pretty trees added so much shade to the area, making a 90° day feel much cooler.
Sarah arrived at Walnut Grove almost completely ready, she just needed to get into her gown. This gave us some time to get a couple pictures of her dress and some details before the day began. We then headed out for their first look. This is one of my favorite times at a wedding. I get to be privy to a lot of sweet little moments as the wedding photographer, but the first look is always more special. This is one of the few moments where you can almost feel a barrier around them, like they’re the only two people in the world. Then you slowly see the fog roll away and they start realizing their photos are being taken. But those first few minutes are gold. A perfect little glimpse of their love. <3
The Ceremony
Situated within the walnut grove, Sarah and Jeremy were surrounded by all their friends and family. The grove made for a beautiful backdrop and some relief from the heat of the summer sun. They each had written their own wedding vows, adding another personal touch to their wedding.
Portrait Time
After the ceremony, we photographed all of their formal family portraits before taking some more photos of Sarah and Jeremy with their bridal party, and then the photos of just the two of them. Walnut Grove is such a pretty venue, we didn’t have to go very far to get several gorgeous shots. It definitely helped that Sarah and Jeremy are so frikken cute and natural together, we couldn’t have gotten bad photos if we tried!
Reception
The wedding reception was outside as well, with bistro lights draped throughout the trees and over the dance floor. After Sarah and Jeremy were announced they went into their first dance, and I swear it was like they were once again the only two people in the world. It was so sweet to watch how easily and comfortably they fall into each other’s only line of sight. After their dance, Sarah danced with her father. This was such an incredibly touching father daughter dance. Sarah’s father isn’t able to walk without support, so she helped him to stand up for his dance with her. There were very few dry eyes in the crowd during their dance together.
As it got closer to sunset, we were able to sneak away for some more photos with my favorite golden, glowy light. afterwards, we went back to the reception where Sarah and Jeremy cut into their cake, and danced the night away.
