6 Fun and Useful Wedding Favor Ideas

So your wedding is coming up. You want to gift a little token of appreciation to all your guests. What the heck are you gonna get?! No one wants a bag of rock hard Jordan almonds, knowing it’ll likely end up requiring a dentist visit! Little succulents are always cute but those can be time consuming to make, and a death sentence to most of the poor little plants. I’m going to tell you about 6 fun and useful wedding favor ideas that you’ll love!

If I were to get any one of these 6 wedding favors, I’d definitely keep them! I’ve seen so many wedding favors throughout the years as a wedding photographer, and I have to say, very few have actually been fun or useful. Most are left on the tables, and the few that get taken home likely end up in the trash. I hate being wasteful, and coming up with some wedding favor ideas that’ll actually be fun or useful and not thrown away can be tricky since there’s so much crap out there!

1. Wine Stopper

This pretty little wine stopper is great for any left over wine you have. I know, who in their right mind would have any leftover wine?! Well surprisingly some people don’t actually finish an entire bottle in one sitting. And those people may want a cute little wine stopper to help keep that precious wine fresher. If you’re not a wine drinker, most bottle mouths are universal in size, so this will fit into that bottle of Martinellis you pop open around the holidays. It’s also a nice re gift item when giving a bottle of wine t someone else, also include this wine stopper for a slightly more elevated gift.

2. Wine Bottle Opener

While we’re on the topic of wine, how cool is this wine bottle shaped wine bottle opener?! This is one of those things that just is kinda fun to have. And it opens wine bottles a little easier that a traditional corkscrew opener. Plus it looks cute sitting in the counter. It’s also a fun conversation piece pulling out a mini wine bottle to open your normal sized wine bottle.

3. Key Bottle opener

Ok, I swear I’m not an alcoholic, but this antique key shaped bottle opener is just fun and useful, plus it’s cute so I had to include it! I like that it can be on your keychain and doesn’t look obviously like a bottle opener. But it works, and it doesn’t stand out as anything other than an intricate and unique antique key. It just makes you more sophisticated to everyone. Obviously. I mean, why wouldn’t a bottle opener that’s disguised as an old key elevate your status?!

4. Salt and Pepper shakers

Probably about 6 or 7 years ago I photographed a wedding where they wedding favors were little love birds salt n pepper shakers. I kept a set and have it sitting near some pictures on my desk. I always thought it was really cute, even though I’ve never actually used it as intended. When trying to come up with some fun and useful wedding favors I remembered those birds. I found these little bears and instantly liked them for the same reason. They’re functional. You could actually put salt and pepper in them. Or they are just a sweet little knickknack to place next to a picture frame. I love that they fit into each other, they’re just a cute idea that I think would more likely be kept than tossed.

5. Deck of cards

Everyone always seems to have an old deck of cards lying around somewhere. But do you know if it’s a complete deck? And is it just one of those typical boring decks from that company Bicycle, or whatever it’s called? This deck of cards is a pretty, cute, fun, and useful wedding favor. You’ll now have a new full deck of cards you can play with that also are a nice reminder to your guests about the awesome wedding you had.

6. Magnetic frames

Photo booths have been super popular at weddings for awhile now. They’re always a huge hit with your guests and I don’t think the fad is going to be dying out anytime soon. So if you plan to have a photo booth at your wedding, these little magnetic picture frames are awesome little favors to give out! They fit 1 individual picture from one of the traditional 3 image strips. Your guests will be able to take their pictures and then cut out their favorite, put it in the frame, and attach it to their fridge. Or any other metal object. These might be my favorite wedding favor idea on this list. Assuming you’ll be having a photobooth at your wedding anyway!
