Carpinteria Bluffs Engagement Session

This past weekend I met up with Jenn and Dan at their wedding venue, which is a beautiful private estate in Carpinteria, with an amazing backyard. I could live in that yard. Seriously. Perfectly manicured, with a zen like vibe, completed with privacy and ocean views! So excited to shoot their wedding there!! I met them there so I could check it out, but their engagement session was right down the road in the Carpinteria Bluffs, so that’s where we headed.

Sunday was a weird day (weather-wise), I went hiking in the Sespe Wilderness earlier with my boyfriend and pups, and when we were driving back through Ventura it started raining. The weather just showed partly cloudy skies. I was a little worried our engagement session would have to be rescheduled but luckily the rain was just in Ventura. The Carpinteria Bluffs had nice weather, a little chilly though, but Jenn dealt with it well, even braving the cold in her cute floral dress.

Jenn and Dan were so easy to photograph, they’re relaxed and natural, and very clearly, ridiculously happy together. They’ve been best friends for 6 years and about a year ago realized their friendship wasn’t enough for them. They’ve been dating ever since and are planning their wedding for next summer.

I’ve photographed engagement sessions at the Carpinteria Bluffs before but always stayed on the main trail by the trees, but this time we crossed the railroad tracks and found the beach access. Holy crap. How did I not see that part before. AH-MAZING view! It felt like we were in Hawaii! Those photos from their engagement session at Carpinteria Bluffs are my favorites! Although they’re all pretty frikken cute.
