Douglas Family Preserve Engagement Session – Daisy & Patrick

Douglas Family Preserve Engagement Session

I always love photographing engagement sessions at Douglas Family Preserve. I really enjoy photographing engagement sessions in general. Since I usually don’t know the couple very well before it’s a fun way for me to get to know them better. It gives me a good glimpse into how comfortable they are with each other and in front of the camera. Some couples are naturals and I hardly have to say anything at all to get amazing pictures of them. Daisy and Patrick are that kinda couple. They were instantly relaxed and completely natural. I try only giving as much direction as needed and with them, I hardly had to guide them. I could’ve set my camera on a tripod and walked away and they’d still get amazing pictures together! It was a little harder than that but they definitely made my job easy.

We met at the trailhead of the Douglas Family Preserve for their engagement session. We quickly found the perfect tree for them to sit on together. I love the variety up at the park. It has a huge eucalyptus grove but there are also ocean views and even bouganvilleas. We spent some time wandering around before heading down to the beach below.

Daisy and Patrick will be getting married this May at Mount Carmel Church in Montecito with their reception at the Riviera Mansion. And I’m so excited to capture their day. I had photographed Daisy’s bestfriend, Maren’s wedding several years ago, so it’ll be great to see her be a bridesmaid in Daisy’s wedding. Stay tuned for photos from the wedding!
