Lake Tahoe Wedding – Lauren & Mike

Lake Tahoe Wedding

Late last month was Lauren and Mike’s wedding up in beautiful North Lake Tahoe. Their wedding ceremony was at St. Francis of Assisi, which is a beautiful church overlooking Lake Tahoe. The church has floor-to-ceiling glass windows with an incredible view of the trees and the lake. Their wedding reception was at the Chateau at Incline Village a few minutes away.

Mike and Lauren actually drove through the start of a blizzard to get to Lake Tahoe, and a couple of days later I drove up, literally the day the blizzard warning ended. So you can imagine the absolutely GORGEOUS winter wonderland we were greeted with for their wedding day!

I asked Lauren and Mike to include a little about their wedding and here’s what they shared.

What are you most looking forward to on the day?

The moment the doors opened and I saw Mike standing at the end of the aisle. For Mike, knowing that we’d be together for the rest of our lives.

What inspired your wedding décor?

The wintery forest setting.

We did not have a theme per se, but we wanted to make the most of the beautiful alpine setting and capitalize on all the elements of that environment.

Why did you pick the venues that you chose?

The first time we walked into the church, St. Francis of Assisi, we were blown away by the wall of windows overlooking the lake. I had seen the church on a Pinterest page and thought it was beautiful but never in a million years did I think we’d actually get married there! When I put two and two together and realized it was the same place, I was surprised and thrilled. The reception hall was so close to the church and had the perfect architecture to complement our setting. And the carpet was clean.

What is your favorite feature about your wedding venue?

At the church, the floor to ceiling windows. At the reception hall, the fireplaces gave it the perfect warm environment.

Is there any particular vendor that you are really excited to have for your day?

I was really excited about everyone for different reasons. I think we had the most perfect group of vendors for our wedding day.

Tell us about the food/drink at your wedding.

We wanted our guests to have a meal that they would really enjoy, and to be able to drink what they wanted. In the winter, one of my favorite meals is tomato bisque and grilled cheese, so when we saw that on the canapé menu, I went for it!

Which part of your wedding did you want to WOW your guests?

Our biggest “WOW” moment we wanted was the stunning scenery and having the details of the wedding complement that scenery perfectly. Everything we chose was focused on making the most of that. We also just wanted people to have a lot of fun and to go home describing our wedding as FUN!

Anything else you want to add?

It was such an amazing weekend to enjoy our friends and family.

Here are some of my favorites from their wedding in South Lake Tahoe!
