Santa Barbara Yacht Wedding

I had originally met Mayra and Richard about a week or two before the world shut down due to Covid19. Understandably they hesitated in reserving their date and paused their wedding plans altogether. I knew right when I met them that they were my kinda people and I wanted to be there for them on their wedding. Finally, in late summer they had enough waiting and decided to plan a much smaller wedding. Most venues were still not allowing weddings at the time but they found a beautiful yacht in Santa Barbara where they could have their wedding. The open air boat allowed for a safer space as well as amazing views and a more unique experience.

We started their day at the famous Santa Barbara Courthouse. It’s the perfect location to capture their first look as well as their family portraits before the ceremony. After spending some time there, we headed to the marina and boarded the Double Dolphin Yacht for their wedding reception.

Mayra and Richard read their vows to each other on the open sea with their closest friends and family. I had fun keeping my balance as the boat navigated its way through choppy waters. It was a beautiful ceremony and I’m so happy they were still able to celebrate despite the state of the world. They provided masks for their guests as well as personalized hand sanitizer to keep things as safe as possible. Overall, it was a perfect day for a wedding, and we were treated to an amazing California sunset.
